Singer Adnan Sami, who is an extremely popular personality in India, has been in the news for some or the other reason. Controversy has been following him due to his multiple marriages and his stay in the sub-continent. According to reports, the Pakistan Interior Ministry on Tuesday has decided to cancel the passport of the singer as he applied for Indian citizenship. Pakistan had earlier refused to issue renunciation citizenship certificate to Adnan after he said that he found his home in India and doesn’t need the green passport anymore.
Adnan was recently granted permission to stay in India after his visa expired in 2013. The singer again renounced his Pakistani citizenship and called India home. He pointed out how the Pakistani senior officials lied about him writing a letter to them regarding passport. Talking about the same, he wrote on his micro-blogging site, “It’s amazing the level of lies spoken and that too by Pakistani senior officials! Never wrote any letter regarding any passport. Total Rubbish!” He further wrote, “Renounced Pakistani citizenship as per standard form Section 14A of Citizenship act 1951 without any personal comments!”
Adnan also challenged the officials to produce the alleged written letter by him. He wrote on his micro-blogging site, “I challenge the Pakistani senior officials to produce the so called alleged letter written by me as there is none apart from the standard form!”
