Aditya Pancholi files 100 crore defamation suit against Jiah’s mother

Just when the Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia episode was approaching a critical juncture, another trial is ready to rock Bollywood. As per latest reports, Jiah Khan deat mystery and the following legal battle is set to get murkier with actor Aditya Pacholi filling a Rs. 100 crores worth defamation suit against Rabiya Khan, Jiah Khan’s mother. According to the petition filed by the Pancholis, Rabiya, a British National has posted several comments on the social networking site Twitter, which were defamatory and abusive in nature and portrayed the family in very poor light in the public eyes. It also mentioned that both Aditya and his wife Zarina has been a part of the Bollywood industry for 3 decades and have goodwill in the society. But because of the verbal attack of Rabiya Khan, the family, their relatives and friends as well as fans are ‘shocked and disturbed.’

The suit makes a reference to the 18 Twitter posts that Rabiya Khan made between March 4 and May 1 and which contained derogatory personal comments about the Pancholi family members. In the petition the Pancholis said, “An environment of hatred and embarrassment has been created for us and we have been shunned before the right thinking people in society.”  For loss of goodwill and reputation, the Pancholi family seeks Rs. 50 crores. For business damages and harassment, the family has claimed another Rs. 50 crore. Earlier too, the Pancholis sent a legal notice to Rabiya Khan for making insulting comments against them. On that occasion Rabiya had replied that she stands by her comments.

Ever since Jiah Khan’s death, Rabiya Khan has been claiming that it was not a simple suicide and someone was responsible for it. Last Thursday, Bombay High Court transferred the probe of the case to CBI from Mumbai Police. Suraj Pancholi was live-in partner of Jiah and police suspects that she committed suicide after he broke-up with her.
