On Wednesday June 28, 2016, a house explosion in the area of Hickory Dr and Dixie Rd. Mississauga caused residents to be evacuated and they were not able to return to their homes due to safety concerns.
On Thursday June 30, 2016 Peel Regional Police confirmed the deceased female that was located within the debris field of the explosion on Hickory Drive Mississauga to be 55 year-old Diane Page of Mississauga.
On Friday July 1, 2016 Peel Regional Police confirmed the deceased male that was located within the debris field of the explosion on Hickory Drive Mississauga to be Robert Nadler of Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police have been continuously working together with other agencies and would like to advise that as of July 2, 2016 Hickory Drive remains as an active investigation scene. Hickory Drive to the North and West, Rathburn Road to the South and Dixie Road to the East will remain closed and not accessible as it remains unsafe for residents to enter.
Currently 36 addresses in the investigation scene are still affected.
